Is Spinal Energetics suitable for everyone?
Most people aged 15 to 75 can take part in a session. However, there are a number of conditions which must not be treated by Spinal Energetics.
Pregnancy/Postpartum – Spinal Energetics is unsuitable during the first and third trimester and also the first 3-6months of postpartum.
Children – Spinal Energetics is not suitable of children under 12. Children aged 13-18 must have a guardian present.
Older people – clients between the ages of 70 and 75 will be treated with caution and mobility capabilities will be discussed.
The following conditions are not suitable for Spinal Energetics; Diagnosed severe PTSD, complex mental health conditions (such as bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis), medication that alters brain chemistry (anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, antipsychotic), recent physical injuries, fractures/surgeries, epilepsy, history or diagnosis of aneurysms, cardiovascular problems, history of seizures, severe asthma, heart conditions, hospitalisation for any psychiatric condition, emotional crisis, or spiritual crisis within the past three years, any other medical, psychiatric or physical conditions that would impair or affect their ability to engage in physical/emotional release.
What can I expect from a first session?
Every person has a different experience. You may feel the urge to move or you may not move at all. Your experience may also depend on how you are feeling on that day. If you are new to energy work it may take a few sessions to connect with your body.
How many sessions should I have?
Most people start to see changes after 3-5 sessions (usually 2 weeks apart). Many people feel benefit from the improved mind body connection experienced at a first session.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable and easy to move in so that you feel relaxed.
Will I ‘move’ during a session?
Not everyone feels the urge to move during a session, especially those who are new to emotional healing. This can make is difficult to feel into the energetic impulses that spinal energetics sometimes activates. However, movement is not the goal of the session but rather increased feelings of connection and wellbeing.
What should I do after a session?
Drink lots of water, spend time in nature and listen to your body. You may feel light-headed or tired or even energised. Som people develop a temporary sore throat or headaches. Your body will be doing what it needs to process and heal. Making sure you get good sleep can help as simple mindfulness and gentle movement such as meditation or yoga.
